Essex Police and the £50 Disclosure Penalty

Further to your RCR1 application, please be advised that the associated collision investigation is currently showing as ongoing. At this stage, full disclosure of the collision report cannot be considered.

  • We can advise that the investigation is expected to remain ongoing until at least [date]

To assist, Essex Police can provide the Limited Particulars for the investigation. If this information is required, please complete and return the attached RCR1a form.

Should you require disclosure of associated documentation, please resubmit your application after the above date, or once your Insured/Client has received written confirmation from Essex Police that the matter has been resolved.

Please note that requests for updates on the status of an investigation must not be made prior to the specified date or before written confirmation has been received from your Insured/Client confirming resolution of the matter.

If a request is submitted to verify the status of an investigation prior to this date and the matter remains ongoing, an administration fee of £50 per email/request will apply. This fee will be added to the total amount payable for document disclosure once the investigation has been finalised.

Kind regards
