• Cloning & false plating differ
• 110,00 CARS were NOT stolen in 2024 – have not been for over a decade!
• Vehicles found at ports – taken by FRAUD or THEFT … arguably, the difference matters
• 43% recovery rate – but recovery of what?
• Vehicle parts are not just ‘quite valuable’. The sum of the parts could well exceed that of the whole. Component commerce is less complicated and risky than handling complete cars.
The crime deserves more attention.
