‘Bringing UK police leaders together to set direction in policing and drive progress for the public’ – website.
07/2026 – My experience appears relevant to some of the broader governance and accountability themes identified by the police leadership commission report:
‘We have also identified systemic causes for concern about the consistency, capability and culture of leadership across the service. Put simply, leadership in policing is not consistently of a high enough standard to provide confidence and trust in the attainment of the service which the public deserves’
07/2026 – The Critic writes:
“The reduction in the role of ministers and the Home Office through the passing on of a great deal of police-related policymaking to the College of Policing and National Police Chiefs’ Council during the coalition government was an error which has led to many of policing’s disastrous mis-steps over recent years.”
Circulating incorrect information
A policing complaints process found material deficiencies in the evidential basis, governance and handling of requester-specific commentary which had already been generated and circulated about me.
A Metropolitan Police complaint found the service provided was not acceptable in relation to its content, governance/decision-making and subsequent handling, and identified organisational learning.

Freedom of Information Act requests
NPCC’s section 14 reasoning appears to adopt an exceptionally broad conception of “similar”
“Vehicle crime” cannot sensibly become a subject-area blacklist.
The varying requests can be found here.
